eWeather HD combines a high-accuracy weather forecast with a full barometer and a deep set of widgets, alerts, and maps. You can monitor daily conditions, track pressure trends, watch radar layers, and keep key indicators visible on your home screen or in the status bar.

eWeather HD includes specialized widgets you don’t usually get in a standard forecast app, such as a weather clock widget, storm/radar widget, sun & moon widget, barometer widget, moon phase widget, earthquake widget, and an extended 10‑day forecast. These widgets help you check conditions quickly without opening the app.

Forecast Accuracy from Multiple Data Sources

The app improves forecast reliability by combining data from two established meteorological agencies, a large network of weather stations, and its own processing methods. This approach helps you get more consistent results, especially when conditions change quickly.

Barometer and Pressure Trend Tracking

eWeather HD measures both atmospheric pressure and sea-level pressure. It charts pressure changes across the last and next 24 hours, so you can spot trends and relate them to likely weather shifts (for example, rising pressure often aligns with improving conditions, while falling pressure can signal unsettled weather).

Fishing Barometer and Outdoor Planning

For anglers and outdoor users, the app merges pressure graphs with sunrise/sunset, moonrise/moonset, wind and rain forecasts, and (where available) tide tables. You can use this combined view to plan better fishing windows and avoid poor conditions.

Climate Archive and Travel Weather Comparison

eWeather HD provides multi-year archives for temperature, precipitation, and cloud cover worldwide. You can compare current conditions with past years and use the travel-focused view to pick better destinations and timing for upcoming trips.

Earthquake Map and Custom Alerts (USGS Data)

The earthquake module shows an earthquake map and can send alerts filtered by magnitude, depth, and distance from your location. The app uses USGS data for earthquake tracking and notifications.

Status Bar Icons and Smart Notifications

The app can display small status-bar icons for temperature, precipitation, and pressure. You can also enable threshold-based alerts for wind, humidity, UV index, geomagnetic storms, moon phases, and more—so you only get notified when conditions matter to you.

Severe Weather, Hurricanes, and Hazard Tracking

eWeather HD includes severe-weather alerts such as heavy rain and strong wind warnings, plus hail probability and tornado-related information where supported. It sources severe alerts from NWS/NOAA, and it provides hurricane/typhoon information via GDACS.

Sun, Moon, and Lunar Calendar Details

The app includes a lunar calendar with lunar day, moon phases, and eclipse information. It also shows daylight length, sunrise/sunset times, equinoxes, solstices, and other astronomy-based timing details. This is useful for photography, travel planning, and night-sky activities.

Hourly Forecast Depth (Including METAR)

The hourly forecast goes beyond temperature and rain by showing humidity, wind speed/direction, dew point, visibility, “feels like” temperature, and even METAR reporting where available.

Radar, Maps, and Weather Layers

eWeather HD provides a precipitation map with radar coverage (notably for the US and Japan) plus short-term forecast projections (up to about 60 minutes). You can also switch map layers such as wind, temperature, and satellite imagery. The NOAA radar widget supports multiple sizes (1×1 up to 5×5).

Space Weather, Ice Warnings, Snow, and Air Quality

The app includes space weather via a geomagnetic index and storm alerts. It also offers ice and fresh snow warnings to help you anticipate driving risk. For air quality, it reports pollutants like O3, PM2.5, PM10, NO2, NO, and CO using sources such as AirNow, Copernicus, ECMWF, and others.

Tides and Sea Temperature (Where Available)

eWeather HD provides tide tables for supported locations and sea temperature estimates using buoy and satellite measurements, which helps coastal users, swimmers, and boaters.

Use It as a Home Weather Station

You can also run eWeather HD as a wall-style display on an older phone or tablet. It supports analog or digital clock layouts, making it practical as a dedicated home weather screen.
