This app operates as a third-party tool and does not come from OPPO, OnePlus, or realme.

Device Support and Notifications

The app works best on devices that do not use carrier branding. Phones from carriers such as T-Mobile and Verizon often use locked-down software, which means users cannot manually update the firmware even if they install this app. If you do not receive update notifications, you should check your app settings and Android notification settings. You should also turn off battery optimization, since aggressive battery management can stop the app from working properly.

Root Support and Extra Options

Oxygen Updater works well without root access. If you do grant root permission, the app can offer a few extra features. It can try to submit OTA URLs from your device through an opt-in contributor feature, and it can also give better advice on whether you should use a full or incremental package. If you want to keep root after updating, you can install the update through local upgrade, avoid rebooting right away, flash Magisk to the inactive slot, and then reboot.

Update Tracks and Package Types

The app supports different update tracks so users can choose the one that fits their needs. Stable releases focus on reliability and suit daily use. Open Beta builds may contain bugs, but they let you test new features earlier. Developer Preview builds, when available, target developers and advanced users who want very early access. Oxygen Updater also supports incremental and full packages. Incremental packages are smaller and work only for a specific source-to-target version path. Full packages contain the complete operating system and work better for rooted devices, major version upgrades, or track changes.
