tinyCam Monitor PRO

tinyCam Monitor lets you remotely watch, control, and record video from IP cameras, video encoders, and DVRs on private or public networks. It serves as the free, ad-supported edition of tinyCam Monitor PRO and targets users who want a flexible Android-based surveillance hub for home, business, traffic, pets, or weather monitoring.

Camera and Codec Compatibility

tinyCam Monitor supports many common camera standards and streaming formats. It works with H.264 on brands like Foscam and Amcrest, and it handles MPEG-4 / H.264 / H.265 streams through RTSP for many models such as Dahua, Hikvision, Reolink, and more. It also supports MJPEG devices from major vendors (for example Axis and D-Link) and connects to a large range of ONVIF Profile S cameras, including many low-cost IoT models.

P2P and Smart-Camera Support

The app connects to certain cameras through P2P, including models that use 20-character UIDs (such as Wyze Cam and Neos SmartCam) and models with 17-character UIDs (such as CamHi). It also supports several smart-camera ecosystems (examples include Wyze, Eufy, Blink, Arlo, KAMI/Yi, and Neos), which helps you combine different brands in one viewer.

Live Monitoring, Audio, and Device Control

tinyCam Monitor gives you two-way audio on supported devices, so you can listen and talk through the camera. You can also control PTZ (pan/tilt/zoom) cameras, and on certain models you can manage extras like relay triggers and LED controls. The built-in LAN scanner detects cameras automatically on your local network, which speeds up setup.

Security and Viewing Options

For secure access, tinyCam Monitor supports SSL/HTTPS where the camera or stream allows it. You can display your feeds in many multi-camera layouts (with support for a large number of cameras) and use sequence mode to rotate through cameras automatically—useful for monitoring multiple zones without constant tapping.

Recording and Storage (DVR-Style Tools)

tinyCam Monitor can turn an Android device into a DVR by recording MP4 video continuously (24/7) to local storage/SD card and, depending on your setup, to services like Dropbox, Google Drive, ownCloud/Nextcloud, Telegram, or FTP/FTPS. It also supports background recording with automatic deletion of older files, time-lapse recording, and a built-in player for fast or slow archive playback.

Smart Automation and Motion Detection

The app supports both in-app and on-camera motion detection. You can trigger automatic recording, send alerts (including email), or call webhooks when motion occurs. For advanced monitoring, it can also provide features like AI object detection (people/pets/vehicles), face detection, and audio processing options that suit baby-monitor use cases.

Extra Tools and Integrations

tinyCam Monitor adds practical extras such as widgets, floating windows, a TV interface with PiP, Chromecast/Google Cast support (video), RTMP streaming (video), Wear OS casting, camera grouping via tags, settings import/export, Tasker integration, game-controller PTZ control, and UPnP port-forwarding assistance. It also supports tinyCam Cloud for continuous recording with rolling history, depending on your plan and configuration.
